Brian Voigt started as the Raider’s head coach in 2015. Prior to CLC, Voigt spent two years as an assistant at Northern State Univeristy, where he served as the outfield coach and assisted with hitting and pitching. Both years the Wolves qualified for the NSIC Tournament, where they finished 4thin 2015 (this also marked the first year that the Wolves had won a conference tournament game) and 5thin 2016. During both years the OF would have 15 assists and 17 assists in 2015 and 2016 respectively and went from 22 errors to just 5 in 2016. 

Prior to Northern State, Voigt served as the assistant coach at Riverland Community College for the 2013 and 2014 seasons, posting a record of 50-18. He guided the Devils to a conference title in 2014 and a 4thplace Region finish. Voigt managed the pitching staff, who in his two years were in the top 10 for team ERA in both seasons 3rdin 2014, which included the top two individual pitchers. In the two seasons he coached 10 individual pitchers to an ERA under 3.00. Along with the low ERA, Coach Voigt’s pitchers were ranked in the top 10 for walks surrendering with less than 2 per 7 innings. 

Voigt had an outstanding playing career throughout college. He was a 1stteam All-American at Riverland Community College as a SS/P as a sophomore. Voigt was a leader on both teams while at Riverland that participated in the NJCAA III World Series and set the wins record with 37 victories in 2009. He set individual records for hitting in doubles (17), triples (7), homeruns (16), and RBIs (60) as well as on the mound with ERA at 0.53 and threw a no-hitter in 2009. His career totals as a hitter were: 0.422 with 27 doubles, 9 triples, 17 homeruns and 81 RBIs. On the mound he posted a record of 13-4 with 6 saves in 96.1 innings while posting an ERA of 1.78. He surrendered 70 hits and 40 walks to 83 strikeouts.  

Voigt transferred into Augustana and was a two-year starter as a 3rdbaseman and pitcher. He was a member of the first team to qualify for the NCAA Central Region Tournament and posted back to back 30 win seasons.  Voigt posted a career batting average of 0.284 with 15 2B, 10 HR and 37 RBI.  On the mound Voigt threw 62 innings in 17 appearances posting an ERA of 3.77.

Voigt spent the summer of 2011 as a relief pitcher from the Thunder Bay Boarder Cats in the Northwood’s League.  In the summer of 2010 he was a short-stop and pitcher for the Dodge City Athletics in the Jayhawk league, as well as an end of the season temporary player in the Northwood’s League as a member of the Thunder Bay Boarder Cats. Voigt had the privilege of playing on a team of collegiate athletes in Europe for USA Athletes International in July 2009. The team went 5-1 in Amsterdam, Belgium and France, including a second place finish at the prestigious Rouen 76 Tournament in Rouen, France. 

Brian is a native of Adams, MN, where he graduated from Southland High School. He was a four-year letter winner, as well as three years in basketball and two years in football. He was a three-time Three Rivers All-Conference player and a leader on the team the placed 2ndin Class A in 2008, which is the highest a team has placed.

Preview 

In 2019, The Raiders qualified for the Region 13 tournament and finished 5th, while compiling a 24-23 record. This was the second highest amount of wins in a single season for the Raiders baseball program.

Voigt coached All-Region selection Alan Pietila, who broke the school record for 30 stolen bases in a season and finished his career with 44 stolen bases. Jake Kapphahn joined Pietila on the first team of the Central All-Division Team and Eric Hinnenkamp and Josh Fussy were members as Honorable Mention. There were 12 members of the team that posted a GPA of over 3.0 and four members of the Academic All-American Teams: Alex Haapajoki (First), Bret Mathews (Second), Eric Hinnenkamp (Third) and Max Onyx (Third). 

The team finished in the top three in numerous offensive statistics. The team finished in second for the following: hits (426), RBI (307), runs (349) and stolen bases (89 for 96). The team finished third for the following: Doubles (77), triples (9) and batting average (.316).
